EAST WORKS: DELIVERING JOBS, SKILLS AND BUSINESSES GROWTH

More than 5,000 people played a part in building and transforming the Park, and major employers have already come to the Park and the surrounding area - including Westfield Stratford City, BT Sport, Studio Wayne McGregor, Loughborough University London, University College London, Matches Fashion, Ford, the Financial Conduct Authority and Transport for London

East Bank will be at the heart of this, bringing world-class institutions to east London, including the BBC, Sadler’s Wells, UAL’s London College of Fashion, UCL and the V&A in partnership, along with an explosion of small businesses and start-ups.  Together they are bringing new types of jobs and opportunities to the area in quantity and quality not seen here before.

In total, 40,000 jobs could be available on and around the Park by 2025, including spin-offs in the local economy, with a cumulative economic value of more than £5 billion. We want to ensure that the scale of job opportunities being created reaches as many people as possible.

Due to the mix of businesses moving to the Park, the London Legacy Development Corporation’s work is focused on developing talent and helping people get jobs in the following sectors: construction and the built environment; digital technology; and the cultural, creative and fashion sectors.
